Leather masks have been popular for centuries, as leather is comfortable against the skin, and lends itself to organic forms and simple mouldings. Whilst the natural colours and textures of vegetable-tanned leather are popular, it can also be dyed, carved, textured, stamped, studded and painted, allowing an almost infinite variety of decorative effects.
